History & Introduction
Since 1951, Redeemer Parish Day School has nurtured early learners with an evidence-based preschool program. Rooted in research and science, we entered a new and exciting phase in 2021 and expanded our program to include early elementary years up to 3rd grade. As our student body grows, we need your support to create a new facility that will inspire and empower future generations.
The Challenge
Our preschool through third grade model has already produced successful outcomes concerning the growth and development of our students. Demand for this robust program, the first of its kind in Baltimore, has fueled the school’s enrollment. This has strained our current physical space, and we can no longer accommodate a growing student body.
Preschool through 3rd grade represents the most critical period for brain development, laying the foundation for academic success and social-emotional growth. Early and sustained education during these years builds essential skills like creativity, problem-solving, and resilience. Expanding through 3rd grade ensures continuity during these formative years.

The Opportunity
We have embarked on an ambitious capital campaign that will enable our vibrant early learning environment to expand and strengthen for generations to come.
A building shaped around how children learn
Make necessary improvements to our existing school and build an educational facility that supports collaborative learning, including six classrooms, art and science spaces, and a multi-purpose room large enough to invite our school and church communities to gather for work, play, and fellowship.
An endowment that maintains it
Increase Redeemer’s Heritage Trust Fund Endowment to support the maintenance of our new building and grounds.
Faculty growth and financial aid
Create funds by supporting the church’s Covenant Fund to support the professional growth and development of our faculty and strengthen our need-based financial aid.

2020
Engaged parents, thrilled with the school’s response to COVID, propose extending the Parish Day School program into the elementary years. A Visioning Committee forms to discern growth.

2021
David and Mary meet with Nancy Grasmick, former State Superintendent of Schools, leading to the decision to grow through 3rd grade, offering Baltimore’s first comprehensive early childhood program. Redeemer’s Vestry and Board vote to approve. The school enrolls its first class of 1st graders, and the Hi Neighbor! student initiative with Govans Elementary is launched.

2022
The Campus Growth Committee determines the need for a new wing to house the elementary division. First grade performs the first musical, Lion King, Jr., 2nd grade is added, extended day is expanded to include care from 8:00 to 5:30, and after school enrichment programming begins.

2023
Development and fundraising committees form, and GWWO Architects and Whiting-Turner begin to conceive the project. Redeemer enrolls its first class of 3rd graders. Second graders propose a soccer team, and Redeemer Racers Athletics is born.

2024
Community members participate in a feasibility study led by CCS Fundraising. Redeemer graduates its first class of 3rd graders. The 11 students move on to eight different schools, paving a path for matriculation diversity. The elementary students participate in Lessons & Carols for the first time, deepening the church school connection.

2025
Redeemer forms a Capital Campaign Committee, hires a campaign manager, and launches the quiet phase of Redeemer’s Foundations Campaign. Supporters and friends of Redeemer meet with committee members to share insight and ideas and pledge their commitment to the school’s mission and growth. Due to enrollment demand, a second section of 1st grade is added.

2026
The school serves students ages 2 to 10 and employs faculty and staff with an average of 10 years of experience. Nearly 30% of the Parish Sunday School participants are Day School students or alumni, and plans for a 75th Day School anniversary celebration are underway.
